Mercidieu Baptiste pulls weeds from his rice field. Baptiste lives and works in the Artibonite valley which has had the most cholera infections and deaths. Baptiste says he is very scared for his community. He says a lot of people have died from cholera nearby. Baptiste used to drink water from the irrigation canal but he got sick once and the doctor told him not to drink that water anymore and since then he only drinks treated water.
